I released you
A paper boat
Floating out to sea
I stood in the storm
And watched you drift away
On gentle waves

I learned to walk alone
Along this shoreline
I learned to stop
Watching the horizon

But you returned to shore.
You landed at my feet.
And I finally knew
That you had never left me
