Samantha Rawls is a Latina artist who was born and raised in Brownsville, Texas. In 2009, she enlisted in the Army, where she trained in photography and videography. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in 2016 and is currently continuing her education for her MFA. Rawls considers herself a representational surrealistic artist who works in a plethora of media such as watercolor, inks, markers and oil. Through her work Rawls illustrates different women to demonstrate the variety and uniqueness of each female figure to represent that everyone can be comfortable in their own skin.
