Days of travel, driving across gravel.
Endless hours of family babble.
Mind full of worries, my new life begins.
I now leave behind close family and friends.
A new state, new laws, I nervously pause.
New school, no friends, I already feel so lost.
From beaches and swimsuits to cattle and boots.
Guess you can say I’m now closer to my roots.
Oh my gosh, a new job, new boss.
Will I even fit in? How will I ever win?
I moved away. My new life begins.
