Cut-down Daisies
Screaming when a part of us sinks
below our defined graves
Promise after promise
Carrying that kid's lost innocence
S-O-C-I-E-T-Y
Cut-down daisies become a real lie
Becoming a scaredy-cat overnight
Assuring this pain as a promise
Simply be somebody else's plan
Why am I being this honest?
Him/her/her/him crossing pathways
Rows of standards stabbing our mindsets
S-O-C-I-E-T-Y
Cut-down daisies become a real lie
Keeping you inside a glass room
No back or shoulders to rely on
Children’s eyes decorated with gloom
Being accused of murder for a while
Sharp scissors cutting the same thin stem
Staining our trembling hands
Can't tell if I'll come home;
this sorrow grasping my throat simply
acting up the same
S-O-C-I-E-T-Y
Cut-down daisies become a real lie
